DREF and the Alzheimer’s Association honor Black History Month with New Webinar on February 12

In collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, DREF planned three webinars designed to increase awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia, share updates on research and treatment, discuss the importance of participation in clinical trials, and provide resources for caregivers. This partnership has already engaged hundreds of participants across the country, increasing awareness and providing valuable resources.

Our third and final webinar will occur on February 12, 2026, in honor of Black History Month, as Black Americans are disproportionately impacted by Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia, entitled: Supporting Brain Health in Our Community.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to those in need. The Founders of Delta Sigma Theta envisioned an organization committed to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and addressing the social issues of the time.

Since its founding, Delta Sigma Theta has become one of the preeminent service-based sororities, with more than 300,000 initiated members and over 1,000 chartered chapters worldwide.
