Ms. Hickmon was a member of the DREF Board of Directors, and her leadership and service to the Sorority were exceptional and exemplary. She maintained continuous, active membership in Delta since her initiation at South Carolina State University’s Alpha Xi Chapter in 1982 through her current membership in Hartford (CT) Alumnae Chapter.

Ms. Hickmon was that Delta who gave her very best as a leader on the local, regional, and national levels. She served as collegiate Chapter President at Alpha Xi, Regional Representative of the South Atlantic Region, served twice as Chapter President of Hartford (CT) Alumnae, Regional Director of the Eastern Region, National Secretary, National First Vice President, and National President of Grand Chapter.

Establishment of the scholarship fund in memory of Delta’s 27th National President creates an everlasting tribute to her iconic servant leadership while creating opportunities to empower future generations with an education.
