Part-Time Citywide Coordinator (15 – 20 hours/week)
The Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization established by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (DST) in 1967. It operates as a separate entity to advance its mission of, “Identifying issues affecting Black women, their families, and communities of the African Diaspora globally, and creates solutions through research, programming, and funding in support of charitable and educational programs of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and other collaborative organizations.”
DREF, in collaboration with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (DST) and the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), is conducting a national health initiative entitled “Research Matters: Creating Possibilities to Achieve Health and Wellness for All of Us.” The DREF Research Matters All of Us Initiative educates communities about the value and benefits of the All of Us Research Program; participating in biomedical research; precision medicine; and researchers utilizing the All of Us Researcher Workbench to enable health discoveries.
DREF is seeking applicants for the Research Matters for All of Us Program’s part- time Citywide Coordinator position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify opportunities and individuals that would enhance specific events, programs, initiatives and /or the Research Matters for All of Us.
- Secure at least one community partner (nonprofit or faith-based organizations) to conduct events and outreach with for the grant year.
- Strategically plan and execute twelve (12= 10 in-person, 2 virtual) events, reaching a minimum of 1,500 persons per grant year, providing participants with information on the Research Matters for All of UsInitiative and pre-determined health topics, utilizing medical experts and researchers as appropriate.
- Supports and facilitates 80 individuals in establishing All of Us accounts; The Citywide Coordinator reports to the assigned Enrollment Coordinator and Engagement Coordinator.
- Complete required trainings and adhere to IRB requirements, policies and procedures.
- Cultivates and manages partner relationships encouraging attendance at Citywide Coordinator collaborative events and Facilitated Engagement workshops.
- Strategize with the Enrollment Coordinator and Consultants, Engagement Coordinator, Citywide Coordinators and HPOs to design and host community events and leverage partnerships to gain access to potential participants and facilitate enrollments
- Complete and submit post-engagement feedback forms within 72 hours after an event is held.
- Participate in monthly one-on-one meetings with the DREF Research Matters for All of Us Enrollment Coordinator and Engagement Coordinator (or designee).
- Participate in (and/or review meeting notes/recordings) Market Calls as scheduled.
- If desired, educate, empower, coordinate, and manage a team of volunteers and effectively lead, motivate, supervise, and evaluate these volunteers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The Citywide Coordinator should be highly proficient and have the following skills:
- Community advocate or organizer and familiarity of health issues impacting underserved communities (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, organization and time management skills.
- Excellent event planning and execution skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and a self-starter
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams)
- Google Suite (Docs, Spreadsheet, Forms, etc.)
- Zoom meeting and webinars (hosting, breakout rooms, spotlighting, etc.)
- Experience with Canva for event flyers and invitations, preferred.
